What made you decide you needed help pulling your wedding day look together?

My sister, Kristin, also worked with Julie for her wedding and I was there for the whole process. I saw how great Julie was to work with and saw how much she was able to help, in terms of having a lot of contacts and knowledge of all things bridal. I knew then that I wanted to work with Julie to bring my bridal vision to life.

What did you find most helpful about working together?

Honestly, the entire process was so helpful but definitely my most memorable moment was I got a completely different dress two weeks before my wedding. We were at my final fitting and I just suddenly didn’t love my first dress anymore. Something about it didn’t feel like “me”. Looking back, I think I was trying to be more bridal in my first choice and didn’t stay true to my original vision. It was in that moment that Julie went into total rescue mode. We went through a couple of hours of thinking of what we can do with that dress to make me feel more comfortable in it and after much thought, she said “Let’s go take a spin around the showroom again”. We walked around the showroom and I found one dress that seemed perfect, almost too good to be true. I tried it on and absolutely loved it! Somehow, Julie pulled off getting the dress made and back to me in a week for a fitting and out to California one week after that for the wedding. If it wasn’t for her, I’m pretty sure I would have been in a dress that I just felt okay in. She made my perfect dress happen and I’m so thankful for that.

How did you feel on your wedding day?

I felt so calm and confident. In terms of my dress, I felt amazing because I was finally in a dress that was so perfectly “me”. I felt modern but still bridal and it complimented the overall feeling of our wedding so well. I can’t imagine myself in anything else!

What was the best moment of your wedding day?

There were so many great moments that day but my favorite was definitely our first look. I’ll never forget the feeling I felt leading up to and in that moment and the look on Alex’s face when we saw each other. I knew that I wanted the first time I saw him to be private with just the two of us. We were able to have that moment to ourselves, which was really important to me.

One more favorite…I remember taking time at the reception and pulling away from everyone so Alex and I could just look around and take it all in. I saw each and every planning detail come to life and loved watching our family and closest friends having a blast together.

What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give to other brides that are planning their wedding?

My biggest piece of advice for other brides is to stay true to yourself and what you envisioned your wedding to be. That day is all about the two of you and it should reflect that. I think when you start to veer away from your vision is
