Blushing brides are in the pink with fuschia dresses and rose tones
Julie Sabatino, author of “Dressed, Styled and Down the Aisle” (Greenleaf Book Group Press, out April 16), is seeing an increase in her clients requesting colors for their wedding dresses, specifically shades of pink. “About 25% of our brides are open to wearing a color or pattern, and there are several reasons why: First, it’s because pink is more flattering than white or ivory on their skin tone. Second, the dress itself looks better in a blush color. Or, third, they want something less traditional than a white dress, and pink can still feel bridal while being a little more fashion-forward,” she said.

Suits you — how the groom’s style is just as important as the bride’s
“Consider creating a fun lining with artwork from the wedding invitation, or your married monogram,” suggested Julie Sabatino, author of “Dressed, Styled, and Down the Aisle” (Greenleaf Book Group Press, out April 16). “It’s a little detail that no one will know about except the couple, and they will forever be reminded of their wedding day when it’s worn.”

“Brides aren’t looking to their closet first and foremost,” Sabatino tells Brides.
“Look to your closet to find the shapes and silhouettes that work best for your body.” Before heading to the dress shop, Sabatino recommends finding what makes you feel the most confident and equally as important: comfortable. Then, take note of those shapes and translate them into a dress. “When a bride feels comfortable in her dress, that beauty radiates from the inside out,” Sabatino explains.

26 gorgeous wedding shoes for every type of bride
According to expert wedding stylist and consultant Julie Sabatino, it’s difficult to pick out a shoe for the wedding — especially in time to wear them to your dress fitting. The key is to get your bridal shoe three to four months before the wedding. “What you need for a wedding shoe is different than a normal shoe,” she explains. “On your wedding day, you’ll be cursing yourself because you’re standing for so long. You need to find a shoe that checks the box of being pretty and can actually wear without crying.”
